About Clare House:
Situated in north Invercargill in an acre of garden, Clare House offers 20 rest home beds, and 21 single dementia beds in a secure environment. In 2016, the village underwent a transformation with a new development adding a 28 bed hospital wing, 2 two-bedroom apartments, 12 one-bedroom apartments and four studios. Guests are enjoying the new lounge and dining area, computer room/library and hairdressing room.
Managed by Vicki Green, Clare House provides care in a serene and homely environment. All rooms in the rest home wing are beautifully appointed single rooms with a couple of smaller, more intimate lounges available to residents. The dementia wing has all single rooms with easy access to the garden. Long serving staff ensure that the care received by all residents is of the highest quality.
Regular outings take place in the van to local gardens, the Working Men’s club and other rest homes for inter-rest home housie and bowls. In the warmer months, all the residents enjoy the gorgeous Clare House gardens with the raised beds allowing the residents to plant their own flowers and vegetables.
Clare House welcomes new residents to the newly completed retirement village expansion. With a dedicated hospital care facility, studios, and apartments available, this latest addition offers the best of both worlds – contemporary, sunny living with a range of care options to suit your individual needs. Designed for natural light and sun, each apartment is insulated and warm.
